Building Refurbishment

Redevelopment of disused industrial archaeology building into a tertiary building

The building, an example of disused industrial archaeology, was recovered and refunctionalised so that it could be used for tertiary functions.

The refunctionalisation involved an upgrade of the interior spaces so that they could become functional for the new activities housed: above all, the mezzanine floor with a new staircase was rebuilt: this choice made it possible to exploit the full potential of the large single window on the second level. In addition to these interventions, there is also the insulation of the dispersing surfaces, the replacement of the window and door frames with contemporary double-glazing, the redoing of the plant engineering adapted to the new functional requirements and, finally, the arrangement of the wooden roof, plastered in white to maximise the natural light in the room.
