In the sphere of local interventions, composite materials can be a particularly advantageous solution as they are able to combine undoubted increases in capacity to support seismic action with the possibility of pursuing this objective through the execution of low impact and invasive interventions, applicable, in the case of reinforcement of unconfined nodes, mostly from the outside.

The most recurring applications carried out on various projects, concern the reinforcement of beam-column nodes in reinforced concrete buildings by means of FRP uniaxial fabric banding applied against their premature failure, or the connection of infill elements to the reinforced concrete structure against their overturning by means of the application of FRP meshes, or FRP banding on load-bearing masonry
